How much money am I going to make?

What is the term of the business
The use of our brand and marketing model is 10 years. It can be
renewed for successive 10 year terms if you are not in default of
any provision of your brand licensing agreement. There is no fee for
renewal. There is however a small $100 annual administration fee.
What is the estimated initial
Depending on size and location, a new Rushmore Tax Office will range
in cost from $20,000 to $35,000. This includes the initial fee,
start-up costs, equipment, supplies and working capital. As a
comparison, this is generally tens of thousands of dollars less than
other retail tax companies. It may also depend on the location of
your first office. Rent for approximately 800 square feet of retail
storefront can vary from $400-$4000 per month.
How much does it cost me to become a
Rushmore Tax Office or for you to help me in all aspects of setting
up a retail tax office in my own business name?
Currently, our set-up fee is $10,000 for the rights to a City if
branded. The same cost applies if you wish to open a, ie. "Busy Bees
Tax Service" office in your city. To figure the reasoning in
engaging us to help you establish and operate your own office is the
equivalent income derived from preparing approximately 50 tax
returns. We expect most new offices to prepare between 400-800
returns in their first year. Our intention is to establish a
footprint large enough to grow the business to the next level where
we can franchise our brand. Similarly that is why we do not charge
other large fees.
Am I limited in how many offices I can
open within my city and is there an additional cost per location?
We recommend you do not open an office with two miles of an existing
Rushmore Tax Office. And there is no additional fee for additional
offices within the same city.
What are the royalties?
We are not a franchise organization. Unlike other commercial tax
companies we do not charge an ongoing franchise royalty fee. (ie.
approx. as of 2011 - Liberty Tax charges 14% of Gross Receipts; H &
R Block charges 30% and Jackson Hewitt 24%) These companies usually
charge an additional 5% marketing fee.
Can you help with financing?
Due to the low start up cost of our offices, we do not presently
offer financing, though for multiple office we may.
Ho do I find a good location?
We determine ideal sites based on the following criteria:

- Traffic flow and pedestrian traffic
- Retail storefront
- Signage options
- Office size
What support will I receive after
training is completed?
You will receive ongoing support from your Software Tax
